Our goal is to positively impact families now and for generations to come. While we deeply desire to see babies rescued from the horrors of abortion, we also deeply desire to see the family unit redeemed and restored. In the past three years, Resource Health has made a significant cultural shift into caring not only for the mother and the baby but also for the father of the baby and the family unit collectively.
While we have always valued the involvement of the father, we have seen this shift to be a crucial component for the clients we serve. Living in the postmodern Christianity era, most of our clients have not personally had the typical nuclear family experience. Many have come from broken homes at best. Most have managed with very little parental support, aged out of the foster care system and have had no one who has shown them the way. Many of the young men we serve tell us that they have not had a man speak into their lives. They crave the parental role and we see that manifest by the way they willingly jump into our Fatherhood Program. These dads are learning how to be present for their children, how to love their girlfriends and wives well, how to change diapers, how to attach to their babies, and do 3:00 a.m. feedings. They deeply desire to give their children better than they had. They desire to see dysfunctional patterns broken in their lives. We find them to have a hunger for spiritual things and always welcome the opportunity to point them to Jesus. We all know parenting is not for the faint of heart, and the men we serve are actively jumping into their God-given role with anticipation and excitement.
Although as disciples of Jesus we find ourselves in a culture which seeks to cancel that which is righteous, just and true. At Resource Health, we fight daily for the recognition, redemption, and restoration of families. Yes, we can save a life by allowing Mom and Dad to choose life for their baby, but we also know if we can save a family, we can then change the CULTURE! Malachi 4:6 says” He will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” At Resource Health, we are excited to see how our clients will shape future generations through the Heavenly Father they come to know as their own, the precious children they raise, and the Godly families they lead.
