Each day brings a new opportunity to fulfill the mission of Resource Health Services! As CEO of this organization, I am driven by our ability to have a positive impact on the lives of the parents and unborn children we serve. This drive often comes from imagining the possibilities. I imagine a day when there is no abortion provider in Kansas City! A day when not one infant dies on our watch! I truly think it’s possible.
I believe there are thousands of people in Kansas City who are sincerely disheartened by the alarming abortion rate in our city. I imagine many may not even realize that an estimated 35 babies die every day, right here in our hometown. Knowing this dreadful statistic can make you feel overwhelmed, wondering what just one person can do. But realize this, by supporting Resource Health, you are no longer one person, but rather part of a community-wide effort to save and change lives.
Over the past 30 years, Resource Health Services have saved and changed tens of thousands of lives through our work in Kansas City. According to a CNN pole, 58% of Americans claim to be pro-life. In Kansas City that is over 1 million people who are against 35 babies dying every day in our city. I imagine those we’ve served and our supporters in the community are grateful we exist and love what we do.
Everywhere I go I hear from FANS who say they “love” the work of this mission. They love that we help moms and dads choose life for their babies, that we promote both parenting and adoption and that we share the love of the Lord liberally! We love that too, but I imagine we can do so much more!
Continuing this ministry requires financial support from our FANS. We can’t open the doors of our four centers when we only hear cheers from the sidelines. We are dependent on the donations of generous FANS in our community to keep going and growing.
My prayer is that we all catch God’s vision of Kansas City being a place where life is cherished, and the pro-life community will be leading the way with grace and truth. Will you join me in that prayer, asking God to tell us how to step out and give our best gift for this vision? Let’s not be afraid of what HE will ask us to do. Let’s take the risk and see how the Lord will bless our city because we acted to save and change lives.
Imagine how, together, we will make a difference across generations!
